Important Information

From 1 January 2017, CPFB imposes administrative financial penalties for administrative lapses by Medical Institutions (MIs) submitting Medisave claims on behalf of members. Please refer to Table 1 and 2 for the categories of contraventions and the penalty amounts:

*The total amount of penalties that can be imposed in one calendar year for unauthorised withdrawals is $10,000.

Besides having to pay the administrative financial penalties, where there is financial impact to the member’s Medisave account, MIs are required to refund the over-claim, with interest, to the affected Medisave account holder(s). MIs will be notified in writing to pay the administrative financial penalties within 30 calendar days from the Notice of Penalty. Payment of penalties can be by PayNow, interbank transfer, or via a onetime direct debit authorisation via existing bank accounts linked with CPFB.
